Did you know that William Dorsey Swann, a Black man in the 1880s, became the first American activist to lead a queer resistance group and the first known person to dub himself a “queen of drag” — or, more familiarly, a drag queen? Additionally, some of the leading figures fighting for justice at Stonewall were Black transgender women, including Marsha P. Johnson- whose activism sparked the adoption of PRIDE.  Join us to hear a powerful virtual panel on the intersection between the black and LGBTQIA community, and how we can honor intersectionality within our efforts for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging around the globe.
